WritingThe Film.

We develop screenplays as the dramatic foundation of films — written with performance, image, sound and production already in mind.

The page is where
the film begins.

A screenplay gives the cast and crew a starting point: the characters, their decisions and the events that bring them into conflict. We develop those pages with performance and production in mind.

Projects may begin with an original idea or a collaboration. Treatments, drafts and read-throughs help us test the story and find what needs to change before filming.

The screenplay develops as we learn more about the film.

The film matters more than the draft.

Rewriting means checking what each scene contributes. We may condense dialogue, change the order or remove a scene when it helps the story.

The responsibility is to remain loyal to the story’s essential intention — not to the wording, structure or favourite scene of an earlier version. Rewriting continues until the script gives the director, cast and crew something precise enough to build from and open enough to bring fully to life.

Every project develops differently, but the work continues until the screenplay is clear enough to guide production and open enough to evolve through it.

No scene is protected simply because it was difficult to write.

Echoes Behind
a Perfect Lens.

The screenplay established the film’s central relationships, restricted point of view and gradual movement from quiet observation into threat. It was developed into the 34-minute psychological thriller produced by Culture 13 Studios.
